If you’re not happy with your new purchase, you can return it for a refund (excluding shipping cost) or exchange it for something else. But there are a few things to keep in mind:
- You’ll need to show us the original receipt, and the item must be in its original packaging and unused condition.
- You only have the same day of delivery to bring unwanted items back.
- Once we have received your returned product and the Expert has assessed it, you will be credited if you request a refund or given a replacement or exchange.
In line with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) a handling fee of up to 15% of the value of the product may be charged when the product/packaging is not returned in its original purchase condition.
- All accessories and parts must be included with the return.
Refunds will ONLY be deposited back, into the credit card used for the purchase or into your bank account if payment was made by eft. Refunds are completed within 7-14 working days from the date of agreement of purchase. For Returns, the processing time frame will commence from the time of goods received by the Sell Connect ug Team.
We regret that some products cannot be returned once you have received delivery. These include:
- Delivery and or installation costs
- Personal care and health items including but not limited to shavers, toothbrushes, razors, etc.
- Due to health and hygiene reasons, earphones and headphones, that have been opened and used.
- Electronic items such as phones, tablets, TV’s etc, that have been opened and used.
- Any damaged or abused items
What if you receive the wrong item?
No worries! If we accidentally send you the wrong item, just contact us and we’ll arrange to pick it up for free and get the correct one to you as soon as possible. Please don’t open the packaging of the wrong item. Just let our customer service team know by calling 075 0964 704 or emailing [orders@sellconnectug.com], and we’ll handle the rest.
Returning defective or damaged products
We take pride in delivering high-quality products. If you receive a faulty item, we’ll happily replace it with the same product at no extra cost. If a replacement isn’t available, you’ll get a refund.
Some products may have a separate warranty from the supplier. If your item is faulty or damaged within the supplier’s warranty period, we’ll replace it for you at our expense.
Faulty items after 3 days (except large TVs and appliances):
In the unfortunate event that your purchased product becomes faulty/defective after 7 days, you will be entitled to the following option of as per the CPA (after goods has been inspected and assessed:
- Have such product repaired
- Have product replaced
- Be refunded the price paid
If the product is found to be not faulty, you will be responsible for all handling and delivery charges related to the collection and re-delivery of the product. You will also be held liable if the goods are damaged or faulty due to misuse, abuse, or negligence.
- The warranty does not cover defects caused by external factors or connection errors not part of the product, including but not limited to:
- Use other than domestic use by the customer or their immediate family at the declared address on the front of this document.
- Failure by the customer or anyone else to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installation, maintenance, or use.
- Use of accessories not approved by the manufacturer.
- Application and/or use of incorrect or abnormal electrical or water supply to the appliance.
- Any defect in wiring, electrical connections, or plumbing not part of the appliance at the time of purchase.
- Presence of objects in the appliance it is not intended to handle, such as hairpins, coins, buttons in washing machines, hot food in fridges, chewing gum, and wax crayons in tumble dryers.
- Neglect, misuse, or willful abuse of the appliance.
- Anything related to the appearance of the appliance that does not, in Expert’s sole opinion, prevent it from working adequately. This includes, but is not limited to, cosmetic defects like discoloration, paint peeling, cracked or broken handles, plates, hinges, wheels, panels, shelves, or any glass parts.
- Rust or the effects of rust.
- Repairs or attempted repairs by anyone other than Expert or its authorized repairers.
- Any modifications by anyone other than Expert or its authorized repairers.
- Parts or items expected to wear out before the extended warranty expires, such as batteries, filters, disposable bags, rubber or plastic hose pipes, drive or fan belts, fuses, light bulbs, cartridges, toners, or ribbons.
- Fire, flood, war, civil disturbance, industrial action, acts of God, or any other causes beyond Expert’s reasonable control.
- Any defect arising from the appliance’s design.
- Any defect caused by lightning strikes or power surges.
- Blown or damaged speakers from misuse.
- Damage caused by using generic or refilled cartridges.
- Loss or destruction of, or damage to, any property, or any consequential loss or liability directly or indirectly caused by ionizing radiation or contamination by radioactivity from nuclear fuel or waste. This includes any process of nuclear fission or loss, destruction, damage, or disability caused by nuclear weapons material.
- For cameras, the warranty does not apply to accessories, batteries, chargers, attachable lenses, or additions that are not part of the main camera body. For audio-visual equipment, remotes are not covered.
- Additionally, Expert will not cover the costs of:
- Maintenance, including cleaning, clearing blockages, overhaul, insect infestation, or paper jams.
- Work covered by the manufacturer’s recall of the appliance.
- Call-out charges where the breakdown is not covered by the extended warranty.
- Materials or labor recoverable from the manufacturer or anyone responsible under another guarantee or warranty.
- The expert will not be liable for any consequential loss or damages suffered by the customer, whether directly or indirectly related to a defect in the product, to the extent permissible by law.
- Repairs covered by the warranty will be conducted within a 60 km radius of the appointed service agent’s location. If the repairer needs to travel beyond this radius, the customer will be charged at the current rate per kilometre.
- Expert-authorized repairers reserve the right not to make house calls in areas where their safety may be at risk.
- The warranty does not cover computer software.
- Repairs must have prior authorization from the Expert.
- If an authorized repairer is called out for a fault covered by the warranty, the supplier will cover the costs of labor and materials provided under the warranty. However, the customer will be responsible for any additional charges, including the call-out fee if no defect is found in the product.
